The West Virginia based Mine Safety Technology Consortium (MSTC) has announced a new website promotes the enhancement of mine safety throughout the state’s number one industry.  Established to aid in the expansion of research, development and manufacturing opportunities in the coal industry, MSTC is striving to ensure West Virginia leads the nation in mine safety, health, technology and equipment.

The news website is structured to be more interactive for users highlighting videos and presentations utilized by MSTC.  One section of the website profiles Marshall University’s School of Engineering’s Virtual Interactive Simulation Environment (VISE) project which enhances mine safety training through web based training.

“We are now able to showcase the West Virginia mining industry and highlight the enhancements and innovations being developed for mine safety,” says Dennis Jarvis, II, Director of the Mine Safety Technology Consortium. “We need to stay out in front of everyone with the latest innovations that are being development with the assistance of our organization.”

MSTC was established to support new and existing businesses whose focus is to develop technology as well as knowledge-based products and systems dedicated to improving mine safety throughout the industry.

The new website was designed and developed by the South Charleston, West Virginia based website design firm Bricks Without Straw.  MSTC is a collaboration of various West Virginia institutions and supported by representatives from industry, state and federal agencies.
